Consorzio di Tutela del Gavi:
The Gavi district's vocation for winegrowing certainly has very ancient origins: the first document which bears witness to this phenomenon dates back to 3 June 1072, and is preserved in the State Archive in Genoa. It contains a reference to the lease by the bishop of Genoa of vineyards and chestnut groves in the Meirana area to two citizens of Gavi. Receipts have been discovered dating from 1373 which refer to wine from the estates of the castles of Parodi and Tagliolo being destined for the Genoese market. This suggests that wine from Lower Piedmont already had a far from negligible market in the mediaeval period.
The first specific reference to the Cortese vine is found in the letters written by the factor of Montaldeo castle to the Marchese Doria in 1659 and 1688, in which he speaks of "vines that are all Cortese, some fermenting vats, and sweet nebbiolos (a black grape variety)".
Later, in 1799, Count Nuvolone mentions Cortese in the dialect form corteis.
In 1876 the Marchese Cambiaso, proprietor of the Centuriona and Toledana estates, created the first large-scale specialised plantings of Cortese, and his example was shortly followed by the Raggio, Serra, Sartorio and Spinola families. This was the beginning of the modern era for Gavi, which boasts its first appearance in a treatise on viticulture in 1870, when Demaria and Leardi gave an accurate description of Cortese. They described it, among other things, as being particularly suited to making sparkling wines, thanks especially to the work of the French oenologist Luigi Oudard (keeper of the Conte di Cavour's cellars at Grinzane), who was the first to use Cortese for his sparkling wines.

Consorzio Tutela Vini DOC- Colli Orientali del Friuli: The Colli Orientali del Friuli DOC Wines Consortium was one of the first consortia to be set up in Italy in 1970. Several decades have gone by. In this period vine growing in this area has developed, acquiring a significant national and international status. This growth has coincided in many cases with a generation change - farmers born in the first half of the century (for whom wine was only one of the products contributing to the income of the family enterprise) handed over to their children, who have been able to transform their fathers’ activity into fully-equipped modern and structured vine-growing and wine-making firms, exploiting the precious expertise and wine making tradition of the area, passed down from one generation to the next. The training, information, technical support and promotion activities carried out by the Consortium have been crucial in this development phase, together with official monitoring and DOC certification. Today the Consortium has about 200 members, over ¾ of which are bottlers. Their vineyards (2,300 registered hectares) produce over 80,000 hectolitres of DOC wine, almost 30% of which is exported, mainly to European countries but also U.S.A. and Japan. Germany and Austria are still important markets where the Consortium organizes presentations and wine-tasting events - much appreciated by participating members and the public. Promotion is coordinated by a small staff operating in Cividale, from a prestigious headquarters in a 15th-century building close to the Duomo, where tourists looking for information on the Colli Orientali del Friuli DOC wines can stop and admire the perfectly kept and restored stone walls and graceful columns.

Consorzio tutela vini Soave e Recioto di Soave:
Soave wine and its Consortium have come full circle with the awarding of the “G” to Soave Superiore. After the long and arduous task of viticulture zonification, that has effectively made the zone the most studied territory in Italy, this area has decided to bet its future on its unique identity, by developing a quality pyramid, based on the French “cru” concept.
Thanks to a unique composition of the soils that recount through their volcanic origin and evolution of 60 million years, and also thanks to the extraordinary quality of a dark soil that is capable of yielding limpid, golden nectars, in other words, a vocation given by nature for wines which also by their very nature are truly indigenous. Today’s Soaves are not the Soaves our dads drank. They are more complex, rich with underling layers of flavors that can only come from it unique terroir

Consorzio Marchio Storico dei Lambruschi Modenesi:
The three DOC Lambrusco wines of the province of Modena are controlled by the Consortium for the Historic Mark of Modenese Lambrusco, whose emblem is the rose-window of Modena's cathedral, chosen as a symbol of the product's authenticity. The Consortium's producers account for about 85% of the entire output of DOC Lambrusco in the province of Modena. To guarantee its quality, each year the Consortium for the Historic Mark of Modenese Lambrusco checks 15 million bottles of DOC Lambrusco wines, which undergo severe tests. A special technical committee performs organoleptic tests on anonymous samples drawn from producers, subsequent to their having undergone a range of chemical analyses. The evaluation is carried out using a points system which indicates whether or not the wine is of a standard to bear the Consortium's label or mark of approval. As well as overseeing quality control, the Consortium for the Historic Mark of Modenese Lambrusco also supervises the promotion of the product.

The Chianti Classico Consortium: The Chianti Classico Consortium was the first of Italy’s grape-grower/winemaker consortiums and was established on May 14, 1924, when a group of 33 producers gathered in Radda in Chianti to create a consortium to protect Chianti wine and its trademark of origin. It was necessary to set up an organization to prevent imitations and simultaneously promote a wine territory already delimited in 1716 by an edict issued by Grand Duke of Tuscany Cosimo III. Members of the newly founded consortium immediately chose as a trademark the Gallo Nero (Black Rooster), historic symbol of the ancient Chianti Military League, and by the end of September 1924 the Consortium had 189 members.

Consorzio della denominazion San Gimignano:
The birth of the VERNACCIA di SAN GIMIGNANO Consortium bares the date of July 3rd 1972 and the signature of Notary Vannisanti Luciano. Together with notary Vannisanti was a small but willingly persistent group that firmly believed in what they were beginning. A private venture yes, but one that would interest the entire San Gimignano territory. Today, we feel the need to salute them with a sincere "THANK YOU" for their foresight. They were nine: Principe STROZZI MAJORCA GUICCIARDINI Dott. GIROLAMO, LORINI Ernesto, LUCII Libano, BARONCINI Jaures, CONCINI Concino, VAGNONI Luigi, MAROLLI FURGA GORNINI Ing. Giorgio, SALINI Alfredo and the presence of Bagnai Franco, Gassino Teresio, Lorini Pietro, Biagini Ascanio, Cecchini Angiolo, Cecconi Ferriero, Pertici Carlo, Razzi Franco, Bartolini Luciano and Borselli Romano. The foundation of the Consortium was based upon very clear objectives and these same objectives have been firmly followed through over the years. Presently the Consortium counts about eighty members. It's management is a continual challenge; keeping in mind the traditional image of San Gimignano, the various initiatives created to introducing VERNACCIA di SAN GIMIGNANO in other areas of Italy and abroad and contributing to the betterment of the general quality of the production, not only the grapes, but the wine itself, so that it continues to bear the DOC label a recognition given to VERNACCIA di SAN GIMIGNANO by Italian law .

Consorzio del Sagrantino:
Since 1981 Montefalco wine producers have been joined together in an Association which is responsible for coordinating the local producers and guiding them in both the constant research for quality and the promotion of the typical wines of their territory. In 2001 the Association was reformed following changes to relevant legislation.
In 2004 an important goal was achieved with the introduction of the control activity “Erga Omnes”, which gave these Associations/ Consortia new roles whereby they were assigned a plan for the control of all phases of the production process and which covered all the producers who operate within the registered denomination of origin area, including those who are not members of the Association/ Consortium.
The new Association (which currently has 213 members) represents more than 82% of the certified production of Montefalco Sagrantino and Montefalco Rosso.
The membership base has broadened through the presence of very prestigious companies, some already well known in the area - having been operational there for many years, others resulting from investment by large groups or internationally famous wine producers who have decided to invest large amounts of money in the most promising denomination of the emerging Umbria region.
The key elements of the Association’s statute are:
- protection of the viticulture in the production zone and of the Montefalco denomination wines;
- promotion of the Montefalco denomination wines;
- monitoring to ensure that wines that do not comply with the production specifications are not marketed under the Association trademark;
- surveillance to prevent abuse, fraud or irregular use of the denominations.
The Association will organize guided visits for journalists to the wineries and the territory of Montefalco, an area extremely rich in terms of its landscape, history and gastronomy, as well as from the oenological point of view.

Consorzio Tutela Denominazione Frascati:
The Consortium, started in may 1949 with the notary Mario D'Orazi's deed, with 18 producers, it was called "Consortium for the defence of fine and typical wines of Frascati". In later years it was modified in "Consortium in warranty of Frascati trade name".
It's been one of the first associations to receive the task of controlling the trade name.
The brand of the Consortium is an eagle with open wings and her claws hold a sign on which is written TVSCVLUM, placed on a shell with spirals and crowned with a noble crown which contains elements of the coat of arms of the town of Frascati (crossed keys), Grottaferrata (wrought iron gate), and Monte Porzio Catone (pine tree with crossed screws).
From the 18 producers that set up the partnership now the Consortium has more than 600 associated producers which represent more than the 40% of the Frascati wine production.
